The Secret to a Long-Lasting iPhone Battery: Take Advantage of This Advanced Feature
The battery life on a smartphone will decrease over time. Therefore, it is important to maintain the health of the battery on your cellphone.
Several smartphone manufacturers have provided features to keep the battery in top condition, including the Charging Optimization feature on the iPhone.
In this menu, users can optimize battery life by using several battery charging power modes. And one of the modes on the iPhone is stopping charging at 80 percent.
This feature limits cellphone battery charging to 80 percent. By limiting battery capacity, it is hoped that the battery life will be longer.
According to Apple, as quoted from ZDNET, Tuesday (25/3/2024), by using the Charging Optimization feature, the battery on the iPhone can reach 1000 charges.
Even though charging to 80% means losing a fifth of the total battery capacity, an iPhone battery that is not fully charged still provides a long life.
Based on tests conducted by ZDNET on the iPhone 15 Pro Max battery which was charged to 80 percent, with moderate to heavy use, the battery only decreased by 32%, leaving 48 percent of the total capacity.
Apart from making the battery life of this Apple cellphone last longer, charging up to 80 percent also makes the battery life longer, thereby minimizing damage to the battery.
However, if you want to travel long distances, try to turn off the Charging Optimization feature and make sure to bring a power bank to provide more power to this Apple cellphone.
