Spanish League club Barcelona reportedly wants to sign Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot on a free transfer in the summer. The 28-year-old Frenchman has entered the final six months of his contract in Turin and is yet to begin detailed negotiations over a new deal.
Football Italia reported on Monday, January 5 2024 that in the last year a lot happened before a one-year contract extension was agreed just days before the deal expired in June.
Barcelona is still in a very difficult financial position and cannot afford to spend too much money. These conditions make the free agent market much more important for the Catalan giants, seen with the acquisitions of Robert Lewandowski and Ilkay Gundogan in recent years.
As reported by Catalan television station 3Cat via TMW, Barcelona are interested in bringing in Rabiot on a free transfer in the summer, assuming he will not sign a new contract with Juventus.
Recent reports detail how Inter Milan CEO Beppe Marotta is also interested in the 28-year-old, who would rather move abroad than join another Italian club if he leaves the Old Lady at the end of the season.
Current indications suggest Adrien Rabiot will wait to make a decision until the end of the season, similar to his actions at the end of last season.
