Official! FIFA Appoints Argentina to Replace Indonesia to Host 2023 U-20 World Cup
FIFA officially appointed Argentina as a replacement for Indonesia to hold the 2023 U-20 World Cup . FIFA considers Argentina as a country worthy of holding this prestigious tournament.
"FIFA is pleased to announce that this year's edition of the FIFA U-20 World Cup will take place in Argentina, as the home of world champions opening its doors to the future superstars of world football," said FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
Apart from that, Infantino also expressed his gratitude for Argentina's seriousness in holding the 2023 U-20 World Cup. Understandably, the submission process to the appointment only lasted a short duration.
"I would like to thank the AFA and in particular President Claudio Tapia, as well as the government authorities, for their commitment to hosting this extraordinary event in such a short time," said the Swiss man.
The 2023 U-20 World Cup was supposed to be held in Indonesia, but FIFA crossed out the host status because of the unfavorable conditions that occurred. There is no change in the schedule for the 2023 U-20 World Cup which will continue from 20 May to 11 June 2023.

President Gianni Infantino enthusiastically welcomed the 2023 U-20 World Cup . According to Gianni, this tournament is very important to give birth to young stars in world football.
"The Under-20 World Cup plays a key role in FIFA's efforts to promote youth football around the world. Since 1977, the tournament has featured some of the greatest players of recent decades, including Diego Armando Maradona, Lionel Messi, Paul Pogba, Erling Haaland , and many more," said Infantino.
"Organizing this year's edition in a country that lives and breathes football will be a great inspiration for the stars of tomorrow," said Infantino.
FIFA also confirmed that the 2023 U-20 World Cup draw procession will be held in Zurich, Switzerland, on April 21, 2023. Argentina as the host will be joined in Pot 1.

The appointment of Argentina as the host for the 2023 U-20 World Cup means that the U-20 Argentina National Team will qualify directly for the tournament. This is good news for the Albicelestes squad.
Understandably, during the qualifying session, Argentina U-20 did not qualify for the 2023 U-20 World Cup. However, this situation allowed Argentina to compete again in this prestigious tournament.
