RB Leipzig defender, Josko Gvardiol, mentioned that Liverpool was his childhood favorite club.
Josko Gvardiol has indeed become the target of Europe's top clubs after the completion of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Gvardiol's solid form at the back for the Croatian national team can help his team finish third at the 2022 World Cup.
Still 20 years old, Gvardiol is a hot commodity in the January 2023 winter transfer market.
A number of elite European teams such as Chelsea and Manchester City want Gvardiol's services in the 2023 winter transfer market.
However, the two Premier League clubs were rejected by RB Leipzig who hinted that Josko Gvardiol would stay until the end of the 2022-2023 season.
Meanwhile, Josko Gvardiol conducted an interview with RTL Danas and mentioned that Liverpool was his childhood favorite club.
"My dream club? Liverpool. Since I was little, I watched a lot of their games with my father," said Gvardiol, quoted by BolaSport.com from the Daily Mail.
"We discussed each season in detail, it is a club that remains in my heart," Gvardiol continued.
Gvardiol's statement seems to be a separate code for Liverpool to sign him in the 2023 summer transfer market.
Josko Gvardiol himself also said that he still wanted to be at RB Leipzig because he felt comfortable.
Gvardiol is in no rush to move on and will enjoy every moment he has with RB Leipzig.
"I hope to spend these six months with Leipzig," said Gvardiol.
"No one gave me anything. However, I am in no rush."
"We have time, let the other clubs arrange the plans and we'll see," said Gvardiol again.
Of the several teams eyeing Gvardiol, Liverpool have indeed made no move to recruit him.
