Italian League Results - Thanks to the Chiesa Effect, Juventus beat Udinese at home
Thanks to the effect of Federico Chiesa, Juventus managed to win three points over Udinese at home in the Italian League match.
Juventus play giornata 17 of the Italian League 2022-2023 by hosting Udinese at the Allianz Stadium on Saturday (7/1/2023) local time or early Sunday WIB.
Reported by MasterWeb from the official Lega Serie A website, the match was fairly balanced with both teams having 50 percent possession of the ball.
Apart from that, Juventus were also able to release 13 shots with four of them aiming right at Udinese's goal.
Udinese was able to launch 11 shots with three of them leading right at Juventus' goal.
Course of the Match
Acting as the host, Juventus actually continued to be pressured by Udinese since the first half had just started.
Udinese continued to try to put pressure on the Juventus players to score the first goal in this match.
However, the Juventus defense appeared solid so that it was able to thwart various attack schemes launched by Udinese players.
Until finally, Udinese was able to create their first golden opportunity in the 18th minute through the action of Walace.
Starting from Sandi Lovric's corner kick, Walace fired a header at the near post from inside the penalty box.
However, the Juventus goalkeeper, Wojciech Szczesny, was still quick to secure his goal by brushing off Walace's header.
A minute later, the Old Lady responded to Udinese's attack by threatening goalkeeper Marco Silvestri.
Utilizing bait from Angel Di Maria's free kick, Daniele Rugani fired a header from close range.
However, Silvestri performed just as well by being able to ward off Rugani's mature opportunities.
Despite continuing to be under pressure, Juventus actually managed to threaten the Udinese goal again in the 38th minute.
Starting from the collaboration between Angel Di Maria and Fabio Miretti, Moise Kean got a golden opportunity in front of Udinese's goal.
Receiving a through ball from Di Maria, Kean only needed to face Marco Silvestri one on one.
However, Kean's right-footed shot was still well blocked by Silvestri and the Zebrette goal was safe from conceding.
The match was running tight in the remaining time of the first half with both teams attacking each other.
However, until the halftime whistle sounded, the score was tied without a goal remaining unchanged.
In the second half, Juventus appeared more attacking by continuing to press Udinese's back line.
Massimiliano Allegri's team immediately got a perfect opportunity in the 55th minute through the action of Filip Kostic.
Starting from Kostic's individual action from the right side of the Udinese defense, the Serbian winger then fired a left-footed shot from a tight angle.
However, Kostic's shot from inside the penalty area was parried by Silvestri and failed to produce a goal for Juventus.
Unfortunately for Udinese, Becao's left-foot shot from inside the penalty box was saved swiftly by Wojciech Szczesny.
Not having scored a goal, Massimiliano Allegri added to the firepower of Juventus by bringing in Federico Chiesa and Arkadiusz Milik.
Chiesa came on for Fabio Miretti in the 62nd minute, while Milik came on in the 66th minute for Angel Di Maria.
Allegri's decision to include Chiesa finally paid off in the 86th minute.
Starting from Leandro Paredes' through ball, Chiesa managed to escape the offside trap and received the bait well.
The Italian winger then sent a cross to Danilo who was waiting on the left side of Udinese's goal.
Danilo's strike was the only goal scored in the match between Juventus and Udinese.
With this narrow victory over Zebrette, the Old Lady has the right to win three points and move up to second place in the 2022-2023 Italian League standings.
Juventus have now collected 37 points from 17 matches and managed to displace AC Milan.
In addition, Juventus are also only four points away from Napoli, who are at the top of the Italian League standings, with 41 points from 16 matches.
Danilo easily tapped in with his right foot and managed to bring Juventus 1-0 up against Udinese.
Udinese did not want to lose and made a great chance in the 60th minute through Rodrigo Becao.
