Antonio Conte Speaks Up After Tottenham Hotspur Was Beaten By Aston Villa 2-0 in the 2022-2023 Premier League

TOTTENHAM Hotspur surprisingly lost to Aston Villa in Week 17 of the 2022-2023 Premier League. The Lilywhites coach -Tottenham Hotspur's nickname, Antonio Conte said that his team did not have many creative players and considered fifth to be the best.

As is known, Tottenham Hotspur were humiliated by Aston Villa with a score of 2-0 in the 2022-2023 Premier League continuation. The match was held at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday (1/1/2023) evening WIB.

Acting as the home team, Harry Kane and his friends managed to dominate the match. However, Aston Villa managed to get two goals through Emiliano Buendia (50') and Douglas Luiz (73').

These results have kept Tottenham Hotspur in fifth place in the 2022-2023 Premier League standings with 30 points. Their position is also threatened, because Liverpool are only two points behind and will play against Brentford on Wednesday (3/1/2023) early morning WIB.

After the match, Conte said Tottenham Hotspur lacked creative players and good defense. He also explained that his players had lost confidence after Buendia managed to bring Aston Villa ahead.

"We don't have many creative players in our team, for sure today it was very difficult to find space in the first half. I believe that if we (had a good defense) we didn't concede we could have won the game instead. The goals we conceded killed us in confidence and in many situations of course," said Antonio Conte as quoted by Goal International, Tuesday (2/1/2023).

The Italian coach has told the club's board to give Tottenham Hotspur fans good results in every game. Conte explained that being able to stay in fifth position until the end of the season is the best position for his team.

"The (English) league will be very difficult for us, I want to be honest, I want to be very clear, I have said this to the club, I have said my opinion. The fans deserve the best. Maybe staying in 5th is the best. Maybe rank 6, 7, 5 or 4 is the best," he concluded.
